RELATIONSHIPS IN YOUR HANDS
By Mark Seltman
The truth about relationships is that we will always have more questions than answers. How can we be happier? How can we be healthier? Will we ever find our soul mates? When? Where? How? What can we do to be more fulfilled in our relationships? Will we marry? Will we have children? What kind of parent will we be? Valuable observations and insights into these and many other questions are no farther than the ends of our arms.
Before you read another word, look at your hands. Turn them over. Observe your palms. What do you see? A confused jumble of lines and bumps? Look Again. Your are actually looking at a topographical map of your character in past, present, and future.
Hand analysis is the science and art of gleaning information about the self and others through a visual and tactile examination of the hands. Hands hold information about our physical, mental, and emotional characteristics, the major influences which affect our lives, and the degree to which we are fulfilling our potentials. Our hands disclose detailed information about our intelligence, emotions, health, career, relationships; sexuality, creativity, and spirituality. While other symbolic systems such as astrology and numerology show us our potential talents and challenges, our hands actually show what we are doing with those potentials.
The value of reading hands lies in its capacity to help us easily identify our personality traits and motivations. By understanding our natural strengths and weaknesses, we can avoid many of the difficult challenges produced by embracing our negative personality traits while ignoring our positive potentials. The beauty of reading hands isi that as our thinking and circumstances change, so do our hands. Once we pinpoint our challenges and corresponding strengths, we can begin to make wiser choices. We can exercise cur free will and alter our thinking, and these decisions will reveal themselves in our hands over time. As we influence our destiny, we can observe our own successes and failures reflected in the mirror of our hands.
No two hands are alike. Notice the difference between your own two hands. The hand you normally write with is your dominant or conscious hand. The other hand corresponds to the unconscious / subconscious mind. What is the difference between how each hand is held? Are your hands large in comparison to the rest of your body? If so, then you enjoy detail and organization. Are they small in comparison to the rest of your body? In that case, you detest detail, but love big ideas. If your fingers look shorticompared to your palm, than your intuitive or sensation personality is dominant, If your fingers appear to be long in comparison to your palm than your thinking or feeling personality is dominant.
The fingers, through their lengths and proportions, ~he shapes of their tips, knots, and nails, reveal the way in which we relate to others and als0 what type of work or career is best for us. Observe how your fingers lean, bend, and are spread. Which fingers do you hold together and which are separated? How widely spaced are they? Determine whether you hold one or more fingers forward or backward. What is the shape of your thumbs? Our thumbs are the basis for interpreting our will power, and logic. How are they held? Our ability to take initiative is shown by the flexibility and consistency of our hands, and our energy by the elasticity, color and texture of our skin. Our lines provide more detailed information about our life choices and circumstances. You have now observed enough information to understand your fundamental needs and desires, strengths and weaknesses, and motivations and challenges.
There are twelve basic styles of relationship, which can be seen in your hands. They are:
adventurous, dependable, intellectual, emotional, passionate, analytical, tactful, creative, philosophical, practical, eccentric, and spiritual. Here is how your fingers affect your relationships. If your dominant hand's index finger appears long, sticks out independently, and is full looking and pink beneath, than you need to partner. You want to envision, plan, and set goals with another person. You are motivated to become a professional and you desire your partner be career minded as well. You are ambitious and have natural leadership abilities and are attracted to others like yourself. Your most difficult issues emerge from overindulging in obsessive and controlling behavior patterns, critical and judgmental attitudes, or food and drink. Many important figures in politics, business, and religion have dominant index fingers. The basic shape of your hand will determine whether you are a more adventurous, practical, intellectual or emotional partner.
If your middle finger dominates your hand, then you are a loner. You need time to yourself. You are not inclined to marriage. You are dependable, organized, efficient, patient, and faithful. Your troubles occur while spending too much time feeling guilty, fearful, self-critical, frustrated, or depressed. Many important figures in research, science, mathematics, conservative business, real estate, farmers, miners, night watchmen, and undertakers have dominant middle fingers.
If your ring finger dominates your hand, then you are a versatile, adaptable, creative, and expressive person. You like being married, however, you have very high expectations of your mate. Your problems emerge when spreading yourself too thin, being a "jack of all trades", being appearance oriented, or being tempted by other attractions. Most successful actors, artists, designers, and sales people have dominant ring fingers.
If you have a powerful looking pinky finger, then you are a communicative, curious, quick witted individual. You tend to be childlike and will most lil4ely marry someone like your mother or father. You love children. Lots of lawyers, doctors, writers, bankers, and accountants have dominant pinkies. Difficulties arise from being too restless, nervous, superficial, or deceitful.
Hand analysis is prescriptive, but it is no substitute for therapy. Seeing or understanding something intellectually is only the first step toward! working it out emotionally. No matter what your hands say about you, you still have to do the work. If the consistency of your hands is hard and your fingers are stiff, then you will fight change with every last molecule in your body. Learning to "let go" will be a major life theme for you. If your hands are soft and very flexible, you will find every rationalization in the universe to procrastinate and not focus your energies. Needing "discipline and structure" will be a major life theme for you. A quality hand reading is based on interpreting symbolic details plus asking appropriate questions, astutely listening, observing and interpreting body language, and applying a dash of intuition. A good hand reading confirms, affirms, and informs a person in a constructive, helpful, and hopeful way. With self-knowledge, we can all improve our lives.
